Westbury guitars are back
I came across a post over at the Matsumoku Forums promoting the fact that the Westbury brand has been reinstated and will again be available.
The new web site has a nice little section covering the "vintage" and Mats-made models so it's another handy reference for those who have a Westbury.
LINK
Looks like very early days for them, and no details are given as to who's making the instruments. I did reach out to the owner of the site, however, to correct the reference to the Matsumoku plant's "burning down", that bloody myth just will not die.
And I've offered to place a link on our site and suggested it would be nice to reciprocate.
Let's see how responsive they are.

VERY early days, I would suggest, but good on him him for giving it a go, eh!
So, that's Westbury back as well as Electra... nice!!
I saw the burning down thing, too; could't be bothered to say anything; that version has some legs, don't it?!

Re: Westbury guitars are back
I stumbled across that site from ebay, the guy was selling Westbury t-shirts...
Be interesting to see how the guitars turn out.
In the 'vintage' section he some nice photos of a Track 2 - including Westbone's back yard if I'm not mistaken

Re: Westbury guitars are back
Yep thats me back gate ok...
Only good thing about that Track II was the price when I sold it.
Heavy as 'ell, neck like a tree trunk, pot metal bridge which was split.
If you look close you'll see a bar where the strings hook up.'Sustain Bar' lol, common fault with the bridges. They might look pretty but that's about it as far as I'm concerned.
Look at the string spacing(e-g) and the fingerboard overhang, not good... tree trunk! Seriously, rather play a Squier Affinity P bass.

These are being built in the USA, so won't be cheap!
Might be worth saving a few ££ though

Re: Westbury guitars are back
I had a very nice and long reply from the owner of the site (who neglected to introduce himself so I still don't know his name ).
And yes it's early days alright and he claims to be busier than a one legged man at a butt kicking contest.
The website was rushed into creation and is a little bare at the moment and some information needs um, grooming, but more content is coming. He promises to stay in touch with WestoneGuitars.net and claims that although we may not be related, we have the same Uncle Mat. Aww...

This could be short lived, Electra has had a hard road to hoe. And they even came out with some sweet models, especially the Talon.
