Hello out there. Just looking for a little help in dating my Quest Atak I.

This well worn little gem came my way via a swap deal earlier this year with the original case ansd I really do not know anything about it. Any info would be appreciated.

Re: Quest Atak I
Hi there Doug R.
Nice guitar, I've got an Atak 5 model that I'm still rebuilding.
As far as I know yours is from January 1985, the 947th guitar built that month.
The prefix letter denotes month, A = January, B = February and so on, L = December. The 5 is for '85 as they were only made in the Eighties.
I guess the remaining five digits are for the build number although I'm not sure if they could ever go as high as 10,000+ guitars a month? Hope this helps.
DAN.

Re: Quest Atak I
Dan's most likely right. Looks '85. I have a black one with a different pup config, in excellent shape to boot! Great guitars, SO cheap! Here's mine: CLICK YOUR MOUSE RIGHT HERE

Re: Quest Atak I
Thanks Dan. I always like to know the DOM of any guitars I come across but I am not so good at decyphering the dates by the serial numbers.
And Chad....Nice grab. Especially with the original case which would seem to be a must-have for these particular guitars. Most of the shine is gone from mine but I have never been into restoring so it will have to stay that way until.......
Age is a factor - not the guitars' - mine
Thanks again guys.
