Re: Which Westone model is this?
Because it came in a Westone case that perfectly fits the extraordinary shape of the guitar's body.

Re: Which Westone model is this?
Well it looks like no other Westone model that I've ever seen.
Unless it's been cut about. The neck is the shape of no known model I know of.
Could be a guitar in a case?? Like a Hondo in a Fender case. Does not look like a Westone built guitar. Seems a decent enough guitar though.
Anything on the neckplate or rear of the headstock?
Lets have a case shot. The 'Westone' logo might help.

Re: Which Westone model is this?
The case is a standard Spectrum type case.
Any neck plate information or rear of the headstock, or any other identifying info? Interesting...
Still looks like a guitar in a case with a name.

Re: Which Westone model is this?
No, nothing... No serial number or logo whatsoever. The pickups are made by Wilkinson. And it says Licensed under Floyd Rose on the tremolo.
The quality of the body, neck and the tuning machines is very good, as well as the sound of the guitar.

Re: Which Westone model is this?
Not a Westone.
Westone went out of business in early 1987. The position markers being along the edge of the fret board instead of centred suggest this guitar was Made in Korea, likely in the mid 90's.
Wilkinson hardware is very good quality but it didn't exist until about 1995, so if it is original equipment on this the guitar it could not have been made prior to 1987.
That "hand grip" carving in the upper left hand horn, and especially that projection point on the bottom bout have never been Westone design elements, their designs were more intelligent than that. These are gimmicky, and impractical embellishments.
The head stock is not a Westone design and, if this was a Westone, it would not be blank. It would say so on the head stock.
Bottom line: if it plays well, sounds good, and you dig it, that's all that matters. Enjoy!
(The case is real though!)
p.s. The reason the guitar appears to fit so well is because two additional foam strips have been added to the bottom to accommodate that pointed tail. If those were not there the fit would be sloppier at the horns.

Re: Which Westone model is this?
I'm beginning to think that this guitar started life as reverse head stock Ibanez and was "modified". The head stock was rounded off and the bottom bout flattened and the point added.
A Google search for Ibanez HSS reverse head stock models will show you what I mean.
I also think that finger grip carving on the horn was inflicted at the same time and may have got inspiration from this signature model that popped up on a local search: LINK

Re: Which Westone model is this?
Certainly not a Westone and also not an other Matsumoku made brand. This looks like a much more recent guitar.

Is this a westone
I have a case similar case like the one you have that houses my 86' pink X300. I agree with the guys especially Barry about the Ibanez. Your Guitar is definitely not a Mats Westone.
