Sold 81 Paduak 1 for sale feeler....

Post by Sgt. Vimes Sat Sep 26, 2015 3:24 pm

Need to make some room (again) and I've not played this since the first week of ownership,  don't really want to sell it,  but don't want to keep it while it won't get any action,  so this is a feeler really.

Shoot me a pm if interested.

I spent the evening levelling and dressing the frets, a teeny bit off the bottom of the nut and new strings @ 10-52
Not sure I want to sell it now that it plays really well!!

Something alluring and compelling about a coffee table guitar, I used to hate them but now I love them.   Sort of like olives.

OK I'm putting this feeler out again, I'm looking to find a Westbury deluxe and this is possibly one of the ones to make room.
20 mins play Max since September when I levelled and recrowned/polished the frets, it's a beauty to play and sounds monster, light weight, great balance etc.

if there's any interest here then see me in my office (pm)
rather not

Also possibilities for the chopping block are my white Spectrum ST and my beautiful blue 81 concord ii as much as I adore the blue,it just doesn't get a look in due to a Squier Classic Vibe 50s.

Sunburst, got it last summer and the maple board is a delight, the bridge and plastics are crappy, and the marzipan nut was awful, but still a great strat.

actually the blue concord has the same pickups in and sound much better for it too!

Ugh,damn tablet I'm typing on is a constant effort.
I tried to type "the bridge block" the bridge itself is fine but the blocks nasty zinc junk.
the plastics are cheap, badly cut and slightly I'll fitting. nothing that's not replaceable though

They have to cut corners somewhere with the block.
Still sound fine though!

I've no problem with  the scratchplates on any of mine.

.... look, mate.... Paddys are an acquired taste due to having fallen out of the ugly tree Laughing so, yeah - perhaps the evils of eBay??

That one of Pollys' that I played in 2011 was certainly very nice in the hands, though...

The market's really flat for selling out there at the moment, though, so choose your time carefully!! Why don't you wait until you've actually got your hooks into a Westbury before shifting it on??

There's one on ebay as we speak, but no money nor space.....

What you need to do is buy the Westbury Deluxe (I love mine).

Then you sell the Paduak, to recover some or all of the purchase price.

Then you say "Oooh, I seem to have some spare cash. I'll buy another guitar..."

That's what I do!!!

Ha!  I've been doing that for years Adey,  and it's getting out of hand. I've got it down to 19 and that's a ridiculous figure for me, I think I  could get it down to 6 without too much pain.

Now sold Sad

One day I'll replace it with a paduak II,  I  need the neck bucker,  bridge alone just doesn't work for me.
