The Paduak Empty The Paduak

Post by jim Thu May 15, 2014 4:18 am

On the frontpage It says:

'Two versions of the Paduak I appear in the April 1983 US pricelist, one without a trem at $299.50 and one with a trem at $329.50.
None of the catalogues mention a model with a trem.'

And no pics of the trem version are shown either while... http://forum.westoneguitars.net/t111-restored-paddy-finished-finally?highlight=Paduak
 Thinking (Barry?)

Came to think of this because I stumbled upon these:
Paduak I
http://yahoo.aleado.com/lot?auctionID=t359804420
and Paduak II (Nice pics really! Can they be snatched?)
http://buyee.jp/item/yahoo/auction/s364391920/lang/ja/rc/yaucb
Looks almost mint but apparently the front hb aint working and the neck is slightly warped...
If only it wasn't such a hasstle to go shop in Japan.  Puppy Eyes

BTW
The Heavy duty bridge on the Paduak II at least

I can certainly add the pix from the resto thread you referenced, but the salient question was never answered: is that an original trem? It looks like OEM but it would be nice to have it confirmed. Damian, any experience here?

My anti-virus program (FSecure) blocked the Yahoo URL above as potentially harmful, so I did not visit it.
The pix from the Buyee site can be reworked and some added if necessary, but I think we have quite a good representation on the web site now.

If it's in the catalogue and there's obviously trem equipped guitars it must exist.

Apart from the II with the 'heavy' brass bridge there's also quite a few Paduaks with different style bridges.

Also with the Thunder type bridge.
