Mats Les Paul real or fake?
Have seen a guitar on eBay see link
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/141611392934?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
The seller is in San Diego and the shipping cost is fiendish.
I have a son who lives in San Diego who could collect it for me and then I would have
A Mats guitar to play when I visit him!
It claims to be a Mats Les Paul but I can see nothing that indicates that it is Mats from looking at the photos.
I would be intersted in members comments

Re: Mats Les Paul real or fake?
Everyone's screamin' Matsumoku these days hoping to hike up the price.
That shape of neck plate was used on Zenon guitars.

Hmmm... dunno. I've got an APII LC440 here that looks pretty similar...
Ask the seller why he thinks it's Matt made??

Hell of a lot for a cave top! I'd be after a solid body/set neck for this money. Be it Mats or not.corsair wrote: I've got an APII LC440 here that looks pretty similar...

Thanks to all for the response.
I sent a message to the seller asking why they thought it was a Matsumoku. No reply so far- I wonder why?!

That neck volume control also looks really close to the tail piece from where I'm sitting ??

Re: Mats Les Paul real or fake?
Never seen a first fret wire so high up on a Mat neck either, I would be surprised if it was a Matsumoku guitar.
I have a minty LC440 here and can't see much of a resemblance to be honest.
'Cave top' or not, it plays, sounds and looks great - 'specially with a vintage DiMarzio in the bridge which gives it a real boost One of my favs without doubt.

Count Arthur Strong moment there....I couldn't for the life of me remember what it was called, but we got there in the end.
