fake or what?

i've a feeling the guy's a con merchant, but he might just be a fool.... i've emailed him for better photos of the neck plate and serial... i'm not a westone expert by any means, but this has '90s chinese/korean pseudo westone written all over it, no?

looks a nice enough guitar, but y' know... i can't believe people are passing off other guitars as proper westones

I tend to agree that it is a post-Matt model - there is an extra switch on #9, different knobs and the headstock details are quite different; not conclusive, I agree but indicative n one the less...

I'm sorry, but I thought that your remarks were a little bit on the derogatory side, despite whether that was just your own personal opinion of someone else or their guitar. Having said that, on closer inspection, it would appear not to be an original Westone guitar, but who can say for certain if it is or not? I have to agree, there are some unscrupulous people out there who are only too willing to rip off prospective and unsuspecting buyers. I'm happy to say that I haven't come across anyone like that in here as all of our members are dedicated, honest fans and collectors of Westone guitars.

The whole aim of these forums is to discuss Westone guitars; those we own and those which we would like to own, in a friendly and non judgmental manner, and to help each other out in any way we can. We are a really friendly lot when you get to know us all and I apologise if my remarks appeared to be quite harsh but I like to keep everything on an even keel and some things are just not acceptable.

BTW, what Westones do you own? We would all love to see some pictures of your guitars.
