Bendmaster FT broken string claw repair - the easy way
i recently picked up a Spectrum LX. it has a Bendmaster FT with 3 broken string claws (which is why it went cheap on ebay)
i was planning to just swap out the broken string claws.
but then i had an idea
i took out the 3 good claws and replaced them with 3 broken claws
then i made a very very simple modification to each one
first, here is a set of unbroken claws
now here is the set of broken claws with a small hole drilled through each one for the string to pass through from the back, just like on the Bendmaster Deluxe
strange how each one of these claws has the same side broken off
they came 3 each from 2 different guitars
it took less than 10 minutes at the vise with a drill and bit
here is a bottom view of the assembled unit before mounting in the guitar
top view before putting the saddles back on
with saddles back on
quick, easy, cheap, and it works like a champ! what's not to like?

thanks for the FixMe link.
one more thing;
Bendmaster FT equipped guitars came with a spring cavity cover with no holes. so, the cover must be removed to insert new strings from the backside of the bridge.
