Hi Westone Nuts I just made a string claw it took me about an hour to do I made it out of a piece of steel I will send pics to show you all how I did it if your mechanically inclined you can do it all you need is a grinder a drill and some drill bits and a vice Lots of patience

I'm going to have at it as well with files and a drill press when I get all of my workshop gear about me as I think you're right; basic skills and an awful lot of patience will get the job done!!

You guys must have an impressive workshop! Mine is mostly limited to a little cardboard box with a few pliers, screwdrivers and old scraps of sandpaper
But one day I am confident I will have a house full of guitars, and a garage full of motorcycles and homebrewing devices (and faraday cages and switch cleaner too).

Funny you mention that because Faraday sounds a lot like the French word farfadet which happens to be some sort of fairy or flying leprechaun or something. French-speaking school-kids will always talk about the "cage de farfadet" when studying Faraday cages. Interesting stuff huh?
