Hi all
I have a blonde Westone strat copy. Bought in Brisbane, Australia in 1977. Made in Japan, serial 760780. Any info would be well appreciated.

Hi there; we could do with photos and a little more of a description, eh!! Is it a dead-on strat copy, or a designers take on the strat design, like the Spectrum?

Sounds interesting...

it's very similar, but mine doesnt have the Matsumoku on the plate. And the string trees are in a slightly different spot. Intriguing.

so the serial means either a 76 model or 77. i'll guessd the "7" infers a 77 model. they arrived new from Japan in mid 77 from my memory.

so it seems to be quite early Matsumoku Strat, before the brand was launched in earnest. Thoughts?

Dunno about the provenance, but gee; that's nice; dead ringer for a CBS big headstock strat - I like it!!

Can I only see 2 controls??

Those serial numbers on the plate mean nothing.
That type of plate was used on many Jap guitars at the time and have no relevance to dating the guitar.
It's just a Westone  Strat copy. It could have had Aria/Conrad/Guyatone on it. They are just the same.

The logo is same as their acoustics at the time.

Looks a decent copy though.

Here's the same type of plate.
I know this guitar(Eros) was made in the 70's. No 7 at all in the number.
