Identify my Westone or Die!
I'm just kidding. First post here, and I wanted to make an impression.
I've been playing my old axe for years now (6 years actually), it's a Westone but I can't figure out which model. I checked out Westone.info and tried to ID it, but I couldn't find one exactly the same. It looks a lot like the Westone Spectrum GT (X185) except for the Headstock, which doesn't have the same Logo, and the Serial #, which is 4091732 indicating it is a 1984 model, and the Spectrum GT is an '85 model. It's a Matsumoku - made in Japan, so it's not a weird Korean or U.K. model. Anyone have any ideas?
Yeah, she's a bit dirty, but that's how I like her.

It looks like the '85 Spectrum LX too.. I don't see the difference between the two. The finish isn't listed as an option, I guess mine is a Red Burst - the same style as the Spectrum GT Blue Burst, but red.

I think I've got it, someone else posted what looks like my baby a while ago here.
Looks like she's a GT after all.

That's likely mine: http://forum.westoneguitars.net/members-westones-f6/spectrum-gt-1984-possible-preproduction-model-id-needed-t684.htm

Re: Identify my Westone or Die!
Yep, yours is exactly like mine - our serial #s are pretty close too. I wonder if it was a Canadian model?
Anyway, I've been playing mine for 6 years and I'm still in love. I see from your posts you're pretty fond of yours too.

Re: Identify my Westone or Die!
I picked mine up over the summer so I haven't had the playing experience that you have, but she is an amazing player.
Just last night we had some friends over for a little party and my band buddy got his hands on it for the first time...had to pry it out of his hands! And dinner was waiting too!
I like it a lot but find it a bit heavy to play standing up fro any length of time; same problem with the Thunder I-A. But they are killer guitars none the less!

I never really noticed, but I guess it is a bit heavy. I just weighed mine and it came in at 4 kilos! Heavier than your average solid body, must be all that maple.

Re: Identify my Westone or Die!
Hello Grunge_Gorilla and welcome!
Oh please, your guitar deserves to be kept cleaner than that! She will feel and play a lot better with a little bit of TLC and it won't take up too much of your time to give her a good wash and brush up now and again!

Yeah, what Polly said Gorilla!
That finish is one Uncle Mats' most beautiful jobs, and it's stunner when clean.
She really deserves a detailing and, um, no stickers.
