J&D Brothers ( Jack & Danny ) JD-S4-B
Just thought I'd show off a rather well built Chinese bass I picked up last week, no idea what year it was built, and nor do I care!
it feels wonderful, the pups are strong enough, the bridge is chunky and super solid and the heel feels lovely and smooth.
Ash wings, Maple neck with Nato stringers is just a pleasure to play, narrower string spacing than my Thunder Jet which suits me much better, the pots n barrel jack are cheap Chinese junk however, but easily replaced.

worth keeping an eye out if you play bass, I didnt pay much......certainly MUCH less than the sticker price

The strings are running straight and true alright.
I never had issues with the Mats' basses, they were always OK. Barrel saddle designs are common on many manufacturer's basses, and that's where I suppose they got the idea to port it to guitars.
It was a bad idea, even Tom Presley agrees with that. There simply is not enough lateral room to accommodate the barrels. The strings always end up getting offset and ultimately mis-tracking up the neck.
