Greetings!

I am in the process of trying to restore a Westone Dynasty IV that belonged to a close friend who used it heavily in the 80's.

As you can see the hardware was stripped and lost eon's ago. When I was in my teen's I tried to sand the finish off with a very fine grit sandpaper but stopped and gave it back.

The cavity for the electronics looks untouched. So I am hoping at most I could find hardware that comes close to what was originally on the bass and just repaint and put new stuff on. However I am ready to make the journey, because I think it would be very cool to bring back to life this old beast that has seen so many things.

I would love help to point me the the direction of where I need to go to find replacement parts. I am in the US so anything with in the lower 48 would be great.

Thanks!

Hello max and welcome to the forums. Looks like you have a little bit of fun ahead of you, but nothing that can't be made right again with the help of some of the good folks here.

I know very little about basses but someone will be along shortly no doubt to fix that. Meantime, you can have a look at what little reference info we have on the web site:

No chance at all of getting OEM parts unless they're second hand; Matsumoku went belly in 1987 so eBay is your friend!!

Nice to see a banged up one being fettled; good luck!

Oh man. You'll probably never come across an original pickup, bridge, or knobs without stealing them from another bass/finding one parted out on eBay. All I can say is don't put an EMG in it and remember that the scale length is 32.25", not 34"! Good luck! Very Happy

I've parted out 2 basses recently both with the same type of bridge your looking for. There are replacemants that will go on. The pickup could be a bit of a problem mind but there are similar types that would go in, not exactly but would look ok.

Aria basses also used that type of pickup, so keep an eye out on those as well.
