Clams with lockjaw, Damian... word on the street is he's hell-on-wheels when it's time to cha-cha however.
Re: Westone neck for beavis
Ach, can't access the sale from Switzerland... Thanks an awful lot for posting this though!!
Has it got a locking nut?
For the time being I have been using this Chinese neck, got it screwed in to the body and prepared the frets nicely. I intend to scallop it though.
Don't understand why I can't even access certain USA sales though, seems a little silly...

Because it's US sale only. You can't even contact them.
Ask Iceman nicely, he's a helpful chap.

But other countries at least let you see the auction.
Iceman indeed is a very helpful chap! If somebody would be so kind as to copy the pics of the neck and the time left to bid, I might pm Ice. The price seems fair, but I'm guessing the postage (ev customs) will turn me off of it.
Tough because I was in the USA last week. If it weren't a last minute trip I could have anticipated this kind of stuff. (Saw a cute BC Rich NJ mocking bird, neck-through and all on NYC craigslist HERE for peanuts, still lingering in my mind like a highschool crush, well anyway).

Re: Westone neck for beavis
Just visit ebay usa and find it. Works for me in the UK.
Just a bare neck, locking nut is no problem. Frets look fine.
Send as a gift.??

I dunno, i've spent less than that much on full Westone guitars. I sold an 87 Anninversary guitar project w/ neck for about that much. I wouldn't pay $100 just for a neck, but maybe i'm just tight like John.

Re: Westone neck for beavis
Mh, nope cannot get it to show.
Think I'll just plod away with the neck I've got now since I have managed to solve the scale issue and the whole thing is starting to look good.
Plus, I am uneasy about bidding on an item that doesn't show up.

How about some updated pictures on the subject??
Will do!! I intended to post some, as things are moving along. We actually stalled for about a month waiting for those designer screws from Hong Kong; never got here so after a month, the seller reimbursed me.

Re: Westone neck for beavis
Does it absolutely need to be a pointy headstock, Beav?
There is an ebay seller in Minny-soda who always has Electra Phoenix (early Westone Spectrum) necks available. I'll post up a picture of my x185 for ya' if you are unfamiliar with the shape. Very fast and comfy to play.
X185 neck...
...or perhaps you are a Gumby fanboy...???

Re: Westone neck for beavis
Hey Ice, that's really nice of you to post these pics!
The neck shape doesn't matter. For the time being, the neck I am using has a banana headstock (inverted actually) which I think is really cool.
I had already spotted that ebayer in Mini-soda, he must have quite a collection of necks but what did he do with the bodies??.
I have two big concerns: - space to install a locknut, if it is not already on the neck - the scale. I have the feeling with my guitar project that the GF floyd I am using is the cause of the issue as I had to make the neck longer in order to fit into the 25.5 scale. Probably, even if I use a Westone neck, the problem will remain, but I might end up trying this nonetheless. And the great advantage would be to be "re"creating something totally Matsumoku..
Anyway, at some point this week-end, tomorrow probably, I will unveil new pics of my "weapon of love".

Re: Westone neck for beavis
The seller in question is guitar4u I believe and he always has 2 or more Phoenix bodies for sale as well.
I have had attempts in the past to deal with him and he is pretty inflexible on his prices. He has a Genesis I on auction now for over 8 months I believe and finally just recently dropped his BIN by only $30. Make an offer to him seems to mean he might consider knocking $10 off.
