Cagey use of the Matsumoku cachet... Empty Cagey use of the Matsumoku cachet...

An interesting tactic is being utilized in this ebay auction...

http://www.ebay.com/itm/1970S-1980S-HONDO-II-STRAT-MATSUMOKU-/220969467393?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3372ce7e01

Very cleverly the seller states "Matsumoku era" rather than claim a direct lineage to our Uncle. While similar to the Hondo Lead II copy that Westbone acquired last October, there's not much doubt in my mind it is not Mats. The only confirmation I have found linking Mats to Hondo lies in the Professional Series models which of course this is not.

Cannot argue with the lumber used on that lower half though, huh? Drop Dead Gorgeous!! Shocked

He may say MATSUMOKU ERA in the description, but it's "Matsumoku" in the title.
Very nice no doubt, but no Mats eh?
