I'm looking at this one but I really want an X350MA. Then again I may never see one for sale. This will probably go for more than I am willing to bid. I see that some MA's were fitted with Kahler but this one has a bendmaster and is not an MA. ??????? westone x350 with trem Icon_scratch

I want the MA with the TOM/STP like in the magazine advert. Imagine the sustain!

I figured I shouldn't hold out. I bought this one and if an MA comes along I'll attempt to buy it and sell this one. I'm still confused about this guitar. It is an X350 with a BM Deluxe not a Kahler, looking at the serial number it appears it was made in August of 1986 which seems correct but what is with the BM Deluxe? Also I don't see a back cover for a battery so I don't think it has active pickups which is odd. I'll have to post this link on Mr. Presley's information section and see what he thinks. Will post pictures when I get it.

The X350 and X390s do not have active electronics. They do have pickup covers which make them look like they have active electronics.

Most of the X350s that I have seen either in person or on ebay have had BM deluxe tremolos - but I have only seen a handful.

Thanks colt, I was going off of David Blairs site that mentions the active pickups in a 1987 review. And also Tom Presley and the 1986 Pantera advertisement that mention only the Kahler trmelo option. Very reasuring that you have seen a few like this and also another member mentioned that he has the same model with passive pickups and the BM Deluxe. So I gather that this is an X350MA (??MA standing for maple??) and that it is normal to have passive pickups and a BM Deluxe was put on at least a few. Glad I did bid and win this one then. westone x350 with trem Icon_cheers

The x350 does have active electrics. Opening the back cover there is a seperate compartment for 2 9 volt batteries and a cicuitboard. Well there certainly is on mine and it,s not an aftermarket job. I'd post a picture but my computer is down and this is a mates laptop. Will post one later.

Thanks Westbone, I'll take a look when I get it and post pictures. Mr. Presley answered my question in the Westone History section and I can't wait to get this thing in the mail.

Maybe it was an option? But I have no extra compartment or batteries in mine... and she's been screamin' for me for over 20 years without a battery change. westone x350 with trem Icon_cheers
