!!!CLICK ME!!! OK, another one from the same seller on Ebay. This time a black Spectrum SX. Looks to be in pretty good shape, even has the neck locking nut and plates.

Why don't you ever find any Thunder IIIs from 1983 and on? Very Happy

That's what I want!

Heh, I wasn't at home at all on Saturday so I never even got a chance to see it. I can see why it sold fast though, those things are rare. Regardless, the one I'm looking for is the later version with the 3 pickups.

... the one that looks like my Electra X195, ie S/H/S? Ooh, good luck with that my friend - I've never seen one of them on ebay!

Well, I need one to add to my Thunder collection. I have a I-A and a II, all I need is a III and I'll be set! Really, someone out there must have one for sale...

You'd think so, wouldn't you!! There were a few variations on the Thunder III, so be careful.... Smile

One of these days, I will have one. Then I'll have to start looking for another rare guitar. Guitar hunts are fun. I'd also like to have a Pantera X350.

Mate, I tend to agree with you and David from Westone.info has never seen one in the flesh, either!! The specs. read very high, too; I mean that knob/switch setup is very like my VA900 and it has an 18V preamp onboard; very nice kit! I'll bet when - if! - one does come up it doesn't go for the $202.00 marked on the pic!!! Laughing

I guess we could get a contest going here...

First one to get an s/h/s Thunder III wins pretty much everything, and has bragging rights that can overthrow anything else on the forums! Very Happy

Technically, anyone who would have a Thunder III from 1983 and on would be the coolest person on the forum!

Starting... now!

..My Electra X195 IS an Electra-Westone and is s/h/s; do I win? (I know it's not a Thunder, but I don't like the Thunders anyway; common as muck!) Razz Shocked

There was one from a Canadian seller on Ebay last year some time. It didn't sell and was re-listed for several weeks consecutively. As I recall it was in excellent original condition and was a bit pricey ($6-800US). I didn't buy it because I thought the S-H-S configuration was weird and it didn't seem all that desirable.

..It was Tom Presley's favourite circuit out of all the ones he designed, and that includes the H/S/H! That said, you're probably right, colt - it requires a particular buyer; ie one who wants something a little esoteric as we all know how conservative guitarists are as a breed! I used to - these days not very often; I'm too old to be bothered by these idiots!! - use a strat when gigging simply because it's easier than trying to tell people that my Vantage/Westone/Aria is as good as any Fender!!

I must have missed that one - bugger it all, but I now have the X195 so all was not lost and when I've got it running I'll be sure to 'road-test' it for the gang!! Laughing
