Sorry guys, you're too cryptic for me. Anything you want to say in actual words about this?

Re: 1986 Black Spectrum ST.
Sorry Crumplezone.
I assumed Westbone's smilie face meant that he had contacted you in order to purchase it as he does rather often.
My reply was a tongue in cheek response to that, knowing that he would refurbish it, make it a great guitar, then sell it off because he doesn't like Spectrums that much.

Re: 1986 Black Spectrum ST.
Thought it was a very good idea to change that crap pickup at the bridge.
Had an ST with Dark Star pickups in both positions, 'king hot!
Nice guitar there... ...still have it?

Re: 1986 Black Spectrum ST.
I reckon, you know, that one of these STs would be a great wee testbed for pickups, equipped with quick fit electrical connectors!!
And just to elaborate on that thought a bit, I have a Telecaster set in my ST and it really is mega - there is not too much it cannot do with the application of a bit of outboard tweaking. I had a set of Kent Armstrong P90s in it before that, and they also sounded pretty damn good and before that a set of midrange value humbuckers from an Matt-era, non-MMK Aria Pro II, which also sounded excellent!
Being maple construction, they may not take too well to the ultra high value modern style humbuckers but I do think they'd do pretty much everything else with aplomb!
... and your one still has the Switchmaster knobs!!

I only ever use the bridge pickup, so I only replaced that one.Westbone wrote:Thought it was a very good idea to change that crap pickup at the bridge.
