Spectrum FX Truss rod adjustment
I own a spectrum fx, and don't really understand the truss rod adjustment system. Could someone enlighten me? Thanks

Re: Spectrum FX Truss rod adjustment
Hello Benheatony and welcome.
There is no "system" involved, and nothing special. It's a standard truss rod and you adjust it just as you would any truss rod.
The thing that is probably throwing you is that cylinder with holes in it instead of a hex nut or bolt head. It allows adjustment without having to remove the string lock.
Simply insert a suitable metal rod or screwdriver (I tend to use a hex wrench, long side) into the appropriate hole and adjust the rod as if you were using the wrench on a guitar with no string lock. i.e. Right = Tight, Left = Loose (or if you prefer, Righty/Tighty Lefty/Loosey)

Thanks Barry. I had suspicions it was something on this line but didn't want to risk breaking anything

Re: Spectrum FX Truss rod adjustment
Happy to help! As with all truss rod adjustments, especially on an old guitar, it's always wise to first loosen the rod slightly before attempting to tighten it. That makes sure that there is nothing seized up.
