Thunder 1A switches
Hi all
New member here - I have just acquired a Thunder 1A from 1984, but the phase switch toggle is broken
I guess all the switches are the same. but does anybody know where I can get a new one ? I would like to get the flattened toggle to match the others
Either that or a few hours with a file !!
All the best
Ian

Thunder 1A switches part 2 !
Hello again
Lack of knowledge on my part
The broken switch referred to above is actually the Pre-amp/EQ switch, and they are not the same as the others
Any ideas ?
Cheers

Hi Ian,
In future, please don't double post on the same subject. It makes it confusing to follow the thread of the conversation.
Just continue in your original post

Those ones that Westbone pointed up are the lads you're after!
Over here, you can get them at Jaycar, so the electronics purveyor of your choice wherever you are should be able to help!

I'm in Essex.
Could send you one if needed.
Send me a pm.
The switch you need is a on/on type.

They used to be available from RS components in the UK, don't know if they still do them

Re: Thunder 1A switches
This is exactly what I need too. I’ve just picked up an 84 T1A bass that has had the phase switch replaced. I think it’s wired wrong though as when it’s engaged only 1 side of the pickup works.. it’s fine in passive or active on mode so I know it’s not the pickup or preamp.

Iain, have a look at the T-IA bass wiring diagram HEREIain clarke wrote:This is exactly what I need too. I’ve just picked up an 84 T1A bass that has had the phase switch replaced. Hi Iain
Westbone is your man - I fitted one of his switches a little while back. Good quality and works a treat

Re: Thunder 1A switches
These little buggers are always getting snapped off. No wonder Mats (and everybody else) finally went to push/pull pots!
Westbone is your man if you're in the UK. PM him.
Failing that, Google is your friend. Use the specs in this post and find a convenient supplier. It's a fairly common part.

Re: Thunder 1A switches
I have a 1985 Thunder III Bass with the Magnabass pickups and the Active on/off switch has a broken toggle (which from this post seems a common issue). Is it the same mini DPDT ON-ON spec for the Thunder III?
