Re: Spectrum FX review
An FX just sold on Ebay UK for £160 - a late version with heel-less neck. Seems a good buy for someone.

Re: Spectrum FX review
I have 6 Specky's but I don't have one of these, or an MX model. They don't seem to surface here.
Spectrum is a wild lineup of configurations, a little something different for everyone...except Corsair who is still rubbing his Aladdin's lamp for an SSS version.

Re: Spectrum FX review
If you want an SSS Spectrum, don't you just buy an FX or LX and pull out the knobs...

Re: Spectrum FX review
A split 'bucker is at best an approximation of a single coil sound. It's helpful in a pinch when you need a brighter tone but it's no substitute for a P90 or a single coil equipped guitar. The construction is quite different.

Yeah.
I meant it to be a bit tongue in cheek, but couldn't find the right emoticon...

Ah.
Sometimes the written word can lose the innuendo and the subtleties.
Carry on.

Re: Spectrum FX review
... don't have an FX, either!! :-)
Hells teeth, I don't need any more guitars at all; I have enough sitting in their cases as it is!
Cheers, Damian, for posting that up!

Re: Spectrum FX review
He thought the Bendmaster was great and the guitar was on the small side.

Well, he got the rest pretty well correct, anyhow. Bendmaster is dismal compared to what it tried to compete with, and the size is not small when rightly comparing it to other Strat style guitar shapes.
Thanks for sharing this, loved it!

Re: Spectrum FX review
At the risk of going off on a tangerine here...that comment about the small size reminded me so much of the typical reaction we used to get in the shop when we introduced someone to a Music Man (almost any model). The Chad wrote:He thought the Bendmaster was great and the guitar was on the small side...
Because of their 4+2 head stock layout it took up less real estate than a Strat or LP giving the illusion it was smaller overall. The first remark was almost always, "Is that a short scale guitar?" Nope, full F-scale! Appearances can be deceiving.

Re: Spectrum FX review
Right, I can see it with Music Man! Especially the Majesty... that thing appears tiny in person!
