Spectrum SX Back Panel
I inherited a pretty beat up Weston Spectrum SX when I was younger and at the time covered most of the damage with stickers, now I've pulled it from storage many years later I want to refurbish the guitar and bring it up to a high standard but it is missing the back cover that covers the rear workings of the bridge (there's probably a proper name for this, I'm afraid I do not know it) additionally the plastic cover that hides away all the electrics is all scraped and damaged around the edge.
Does anyone know where I can get hold of these parts or compatible alternatives in the UK? The electrics cover is not essential, it would be nice to have a new one but since the back plate on the bridge is missing completely this is my first priority, I was even thinking of getting a metal one custom made...

Re: Spectrum SX Back Panel
These are not the sort of items you normally find kicking around on eBay and the like. A lot of folks take the covers off and don't bother to replace them for reasons I've never understood.
Your best bet is to make your own out of any suitable plastic. The spring cavity cover is just a rectangle. Doesn't get much easier than that. It isn't all that difficult and I've even used the bottom of a plastic container from the Dollar Store. Not the prettiest maybe but more than functional...but then, I am a cheep bastid.
If the control cavity cover is not too badly damaged it can be refinished if you have the inclination. See THIS POST for tips on how to do this.

I have an MX and can photograph the cavity cover from that and put the dimensions, if that's helpful?
The spring cover is different from the Fender one and, if I remember correctly, I drew a diagram with the measurements for a Westone spring cavity cover which is in here someplace....
I take the measurements and pics/diagrams along to my local plastics supplier, who will knock out what I want for about $A5...
...Found it!!

Good one John, I'd forgotten about that helpful post. OK to stick it on the Mods section of the web site?
