Restoring Plastic Finishes
Our pal, Trevor, over at the Mats Forum, is a major collector and a top notch restorer of Mats-made instruments. His work is outstanding and the guitars and basses look brand new when he's done with them. Honestly, just breath taking work.
He recently turned his considerable skills and experience to restoring the plastic components of these instruments, with similarly amazing results. If you are faced with a nicely restored body but the plastic covers and mounts, etc, are still looking tired, scratched and scuffed, this might be what you're looking for: LINK

Re: Restoring Plastic Finishes
Yeah, I noticed that some time ago and Trev has been absent from the Mats forum as well. Not sure what's going on, looks like he's let the domain site lapse.
* * * BUT I did manage to dig up a version of his website on the Wayback Machine Internet Archive. Had to go back to 2016 to find it though:
LINK TO WAYBACK VERSION
Just be patient as it loads, there are a LOT of pictures and information!
I didn't have time to explore the whole thing but it looks promising.
Of course, on top of it all, dear old Photobucket continues to bugger up countless posts with their tactics. Bad enough they put a watermark on the pics, now they're also blurring the picture! Bastwards!
