Weight dispersion guitar strap
Just wondered if any one has found a quality strap that helps with dispersing the weight of heavier guitars?
Having popped my "Thunder" cherry yesterday, I wanted to go for the guitar but after trying it for fifteen minutes or so my shoulder was groaning and I'm thinking hopefully with a strap that reduces the impact of the weight, so many other models will also be on the cards going forward.
Many thanks

Re: Weight dispersion guitar strap
I use a very wide leather one on the likes of my Invader, which weighs very heavily indeed on the shoulder....
I have an old Fender one which is padded along it its entire length with a 4mm vinyl-y stuff which is also very good....

There are some double shoulder straps out there. I cannot comment on their effectiveness for guitars but they make carrying a set of golf clubs a lot easier.

Yeah, the wider the better generally speaking. Have a look at bass straps too.

Thanks for your advice as always gents, managed to fly by our local music shop earlier, was tempted by an Aircell Padded comfort strap but the guys reckoned they made little difference and confirmed finding a good wide softish leather design would help enormously with spreading the weight. Great call on the bass strap idea, I know just the man who might have a spare I could borrow to try it out

Yeah on the odd occasion I do actually use a strap, its a wide suede bass one, the extra friction of the suede on the shoulder also helps to solve neck dive!
