Prompted by a comment on a different thread  I have just listened, for the zillionth time, to what I think is the best album made so far.
Dark Side of the Moon is my choice. The telling of frailty and greed is fantastic. For a bunch of young guys to create this is amazing to me.

I prefer 'Wish you were here' but DSOTM is a wonderful piece, I agree!

I do wonder, though, that today's youth who listen to the likes of this and Led Zeppelin 4, Tales of topographic Oceans and all those other seriously good LPs from yesteryear on digital media; are they missing out on something?? I wore out 3 copies of DSOTM on vinyl and I do think there's a quality to vinyl LPs that's missing on the cleaned up, re-mastered digital media....

And the joy of the cover art has gone now, as well...

 - one (old) man's grump for the day!!

There was a warmth of sound with vinyl, muddy on most decks tho.
Digital is the great leveller for home systems and for the industry to mix/produce - it opened up a whole new oyster.
