Truss Rod Nut Empty Truss Rod Nut

Post by dangeloguitars Fri Jun 07, 2013 8:26 am

I need a truss rod nut for a Westone Thunder 1-A guitar. I tried fitting a Gibson style nut with 10-32 thread but it seemed too small in size. I guess there's a good chance it's a metric thread. If anyone has any info on where to purchase one or what thread is needed please let me know. Thanks much!

Thanks for the response Westbone. I assume you're referring to the thread size? M8? Any ideas where to find one that will easily fit the tight truss rod channel? Seems to be very little room for a wrench once the nut is in place.
Thanks.

Ah! Now that makes sense.... and that is the part I need... the truss rod adjustment nut. I searched online but wasn't successful. Do you know where I would be able to find one?

It's not a nut but a rod running the length of the neck.
Have you tried an allen key?

The part that the allen key goes into threads onto the truss rod. It is a separate piece, same as any traditional truss rod. The part the allen key goes into (The Nut) is missing... and I need one to thread onto the truss rod so I can adjust the neck. I am not able to adjust the neck without this part (the truss rod nut). Do a search on Google for "Truss rod nut" and you'll see what I mean.

Certainly know what a truss rod nut is.

What you need is 25mm long, 9mm outside diameter, 6mm internal thread,
6mm allen key head.

Nothing commercially available that I've seen.
Try a Fender bullet nut and tap out the thread to 6mm. or something similar.
