Re: Second time around
buy them and take away as many as possible from the market to control the supply and therefore the price? That of course requires that many people want westones...
Re: Second time around

But how do you increase the value of a Westone?
If that bass on eBay the other day is anything to go by - chop the end off the headstock, strip the finish, gut the electrics & chuck the knobs away...

Yeah, was a bit suprised at that myself.

Re: Second time around
Assuming that Damian isn't setting us up for a punch line ( Buzinga! ) I think, collectively, we're already doing it.
Troll almost any guitar board and you'll see positive references to "Matsumoku made" as well as specific references to us here and our brethren over at the Matsumoku Guitar Gallery. Judging by the increasing traffic to both our web site and this forum there is a lot of interest in these instruments, and folks are being educated. Demand has been steadily going up, along with prices, and conversely supply has been going down, particularly in the top end models.
Supply and demand takes care of the pricing, but as for "value", that's a bit more elusive and perhaps even subjective. But taken in the sense of "importance" then those of us addicted to these guitars already know their value.

What he said... ^^^^^^
If only we would shut our collective pie hole about how awesome these instruments are prices might have a chance at remaining reasonable. Value for dollar-wise we need to shut it AFAIAC and that will take care of itself.
...but pure value? Aesthetically or intrinsically far above par for the course back in the day and that will rise naturally as well with the passage of time.
BTW, it is snowing at the moment here. I say huzzah for global warming...

Re: Second time around
You increase its value by claiming that it was once owned and played by a famous guitarist such as Woody from the Bay City Rollers.
