WANTED! WESTONES IN AUSTRALIA

Hi everyone, I'm in the market for a Matsumoku made Westone 6-string (preferably ANY thunder model, but am interested in all of them) in the general Sydney - Woolongong - Canberra type area.. must be in playing condition of course not interested in projects, and unmodified.

There's not actually that many Westones in Australia/NZ, from what I can see.... and believe me I've been looking!!!

There seem to be more Vantage and APII Matt builds here, and a forum friend here in Qld seems to be cornering most of them...

If you can't find a Thunder you like, get back in touch with me if you still want a Westone, and we'll see what we can do..

Thanks Corsair, yes your definately right on that one. My best mates dad has one (which is the only reason I am even aware of the brands existence) and he bought it in from the States back in the 80's apparantly.

Oh, no.....Don's on the hunt!!

I still reckon they weren't marketed as hard Down Under as were APII and Vantage, but there are a few out there, eh!!

They come up now and then just don't hold your breath while you wait.
I have only seen a few on flebay and the just one lefty in a hock shop.
Keep looking as I'm sure they are out there

I agree that they aren't exactly laying in the street over here but if you really want one and keep yours eyes/ears open you will succeed

There's an acoustic in Melbourne... I got a Thunder II-A local in Sydney!

No ones saying they aren't there; just that they aren't as common as other Matsumoku builds!

Of my Westones, some are from New Zealand, some from the UK and one from France. Both Electras are from the US and the Vantages are all Australian bought, apart from one awaiting pickup in Virginia, US.
