Spectrum 12 string headstock
Ok folks I need some help on the headstock that is my current avatar. Does anyone have a straight on picture of it? I need a straight on frontal picture so I can replicate it.
I have the magazine that the avatar pic is from, but it no luck on a better picture.
It looks to go wider from the lower part to thinner at the top more so than a vantage 12 string, but looks somewhat similar. The bit towards the nut also does not look symetrical to me in the one pic I got, but that just may be from photo angle.
I also think it looks a bit like the x775 5 string bass neck, so if I can't get some help - I may use that as a starting point.
Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Spectrum 12 string headstock
Anyone think I could chop the headstock off of this:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/120931228953?ssPageName=STRK:MEBOFFX:MABO&_trksid=p3984.m1427.l2672&autorefresh=true
And then put on a 12 string headstock? It sure would save time from making a neck from scratch and I wouldn't have to worry about the neck pocket fit.
think a 45 degree angle cut would work? maybe 60? anyone ever try somthing like it?

Oh lordy, you're making me askeered, agin.
I think the question is not so much the angle of the cut, but more how do you fasten a new 12-string headstock? That's a hell of a lot of tension to resist and it had best be more than a glue joint I'm thinking.
Or at least a very long cut to maximize the contact surface area, which would suggest perhaps a shallow angle?
(Are these necks not a single piece of maple? Shame to cut it.)

I'm pretty sure that it won't fit a spectrum, but it also doesn't have 'the look' I'm going for. Trying to reall do my best to replicate the Rabin 12 - but thanks for pointing that out - I wouldn't have seen it.
I got the spectrum body, and dang it is heavy - maybe because I'm used to the Panteras, but even without hardware on it, it ways a ton. I think we are getting a lot of rain this weekend so maybe I can get back into some sanding while I wait for the neck.

Re: Spectrum 12 string headstock
Sounds like a better plan to moi.
I'd rather deal with the neck pocket than the headstock problem.
