Against my interests to publicise cos I would really like this Prestige. Im sure youve all already found it, here is a 250 on ebay uk. Its already at £230 with almost 6 days to go. It comes with its own fur lined hard case.

Oddly, immediately below from another seller is an original Prestige case. Has a BIN of £79.

I was watching it too, with half an interest which i will now abandon. I wonder how much this is going to fetch. From the spiel it would appear the seller has no firm idea of it's value which leaves it down to buyers.

To be honest, I'd just use the strap regardless. I need more straps, and I'm not bothered by the rainbow. And if you put the rainbow strap on a Rainbow guitar, you'd have a double Rainbow! It'd be so intense! Laughing

I don't like how these are going up... are we the source of inflation? Laughing We few Westie fans may be bidding up these beauties, and driving up the prices ourselves!

Nor me. In fact I bowed out when Grogg registered a lien Smile Mine was a casual interest that I soon lost!

I wonder how these stack up against the Washburn Wing series - one of the better ones like the Eagle or Hawk. Maybe I'll post a thread.

The Prestige is a much better guitar in my opinion.
Better balanced and a much better shape of neck(rear)
Not to say the Wing is crap, just that I've had both and still have the Prestige. Smile

Prestige 250 UK Empty Prestige 250 on Ebay

Post by westcoaster Thu Sep 22, 2011 7:15 pm

Hi,
Im new here and it was me who got the 250 on EBay last week.

Bit of background. Back in the early 80's I decided to buy a decent guitar and was looking at fender/gibson (not that I could afford them). The guy in the shop said try this one. It was a guitar that I had never heard of before but I fell in love with it immediately. Yes it was a 250 and it was the only one i had ever seen. Moving on about 10 years and really short of cash I had to sell it (yes I was ripped off), and kind of left playing on the back burner for a long time.

About 6 years ago I got back into playing and am now hooked again, currently playing a Steinberger Spirit (80's thing again). I decided that I really needed to get back was the 250 but they appeared to be as rare as hens teeth, then last week I saw it on ebay and decided that what ever it took it would be mine. Sorry to anybody who was also bidding but I just could not let it go.

Well, I am not disappointed, It is absolutely beautiful and I will never never never let it out of ny hands, worth so much more to me than a gibson/prs etc and brings back so many memories. From what I can tell from what Ive learnt on this site it was made in 1982, Serial begins 207. The frets were green with misuse, the bridge and tailpiece need some serious work but other than that in lovely condition. Have given it a quick clean and setup and, it screams.

I know that I probably paid over the odds for it but, to me it is priceless. Will be getting a proper setup done sometime soon and would welcome any tips about how to get the bridge / tailpiece back in good order.

Welcome Westcoaster. Good to hear that you were able to remedy an injustice from your past by scoring that axe.

Please post pictures of the bridge in the technical/repair section with your specific concerns. One of the lads is sure to steer you straight!
