Prestige 250 lead pickup
I’m trying to find information on the lead pickup that came originally in the 1982 Westone Prestige 250. As a foolish teenager, I swapped it out for ad SD-6 Super Distortion, and I no longer have the original.
I’m not sure what sort of pup was originally there, but if anyone knows, I’d really appreciate it. I’d love to find one and restore this to original condition.
Thanks.

Re: Prestige 250 lead pickup
Your Prestige originally came with MMK75 pickups and I suspect that they are going to be as rare as rocking horse poo to find.
You may get lucky and a Forum member may have one for sale. Otherwise you can keep an eye on eBay etc in case one comes up. Other than that. . .

Re: Prestige 250 lead pickup
I was afraid of that, but knowing MMK75, which sounds familiar, I think I once knew that, helps a lot. Thanks!

Re: Prestige 250 lead pickup
On your next string change flip your neck pick up over and you should be able to confirm by the MMK75 stamp on the bottom.

Re: Prestige 250 lead pickup
There is a lookalike replacement.
LINK
I have used these with a replacement AlnicoII magnet and they sound pretty good. They sound fine with the magnets they come with.
Also 4 wires with a ground, not the same colours as the original but if your handy easy to work out the wiring.
Do you still have the PEQ pot in there?

The PEQ pots are still there, only the lead pickup was changed.
