spectrum series ii
Anyone know anything about this one? It does not match the pics in the UK 88 catalog. Wondering if it is by chance a Matsumoku built guitar. What is odd is that there are no markings on the guitar at all. Getting the guy to check close but from the pics there is nothing. Although it does have the hex key holder on back of headstock... help?
I can't post a link so check Vancouver Canada craigslist for

Re: spectrum series ii
Wouldn't it match the catalog? Headstock graphic is just Westone with the logo in the catalog. Craigslist one has Spectrum Series ii next to Westone. Does the korean one have the hex key holder on back of headstock?

Re: spectrum series ii
Not necessarily but still the same model guitar. 'Subject to change without notice'
Yes Korean models had the key holder.
Very decent price with a case and all the other goodies!
Not keen on the artwork though.

Re: spectrum series ii
Were the Matsumoku made versions of this model labelled "Made in Japan" with his name etc.. somewhere?
Will be sad if I can't identify this thing haha
Yeah price is right unless it's korean.
Thanks for the info btw

SP2111, nice, especially with all the fruit!
I found with my SP1012 that the h/b needed swapping out as it was a little sterile sounding, but other than that; love it to bits!

And, of course, the string lock plates are missing.
What do people do with these anyway? If they fall off why wouldn't you put them back on???

Can't believe I didn't notice that haha. So focused on the logo etc...
Well he had the string lock cover long ago but no idea where it is. sigh
I'm getting him to check inside the guitar for any hint of manufacture date.

Re: spectrum series ii
Well I bought this yesterday. It came with original case which says made in Korea. I like the case design actually.
One of the pots needs to be replaced. It was wobbly and in attempting to fix it, the pot post split in two with one piece coming off. Old brittle metal... Good thing the knob screws on in a way that holds it together. But now it is more wobbly haha I'll replace the electronics. Nice guitar regardless. The guy said there was an issue with the bridge and he had someone work on it, adding new springs. Well the new spring wasn't connected to anything and is the wrong type of spring for this bridge haha... new spring wasn't necessary at all. Just need to tighten up the screws holding the plate which the springs pull on. Sorry, only half way through my coffee so I'm probably explaining horribly.
Thanks for info guys!

Re: spectrum series ii
Congrats!
It's nice when you get a guitar repair that's been mis-diagnosed by the previous owner and turns out to be a easy fix eh?
I'm not a fan of the long horns on this model, but them whats got 'em likes 'em!

Re: spectrum series ii
"Horny", yes please. On a guitar? Not so much.
Strap pins are easy to stabilize with some toothpicks and good 'ole white glue. Solid and done.
