Just chanced across this on eBay UK:

Westone lost sheep...

A strange-looking beast & no mistake - seems to be a single pickup version of the 'Unknown Model 4' on the website.

Good find.
A very interesting collector's guitar to begin with, but the single pup version is even more so.
I don't know if we ever figured out the origin of this one...Italian??

I will of course, swipe the pictures to add to the web site.

No idea about its true parentage, but it's definitely got that sort of '60s Teisco vibe going on:

Teisco guitars

This one in particular:

Teisco Top Twenty

Curious things, though!

here is a 2-pup version i found a while back
Westone, but not as we know it! Ry%3D400
it has great sounding pickups
has a 'made in japan' sticker, so not much question about country of origin, but nothing definitive about the particular maker

Mike, you've been holding out on us! Smile
Thanks for the confirmation of MIJ, and we could use some better pictures for the web site if you have a couple more.

I just now finished uploading pix of this single pup version which I cropped and cleaned up a bit, especially the shot of the broken bottom bout. Based on that one, I speculated that the construction was hollow, kind of like Danelectro. Can you comment on that?

Punky: That Teisco is very kewl!

Um, yeah...dementia rears its ugly head again. Ta. Embarassed

So you reckon yours is solid body? The picture of the single pup seems to indicate a fracture in 3 pieces plus a collapse. That wouldn't happen unless there's a void inside. No?
