I may put a bid in but it is near the top of what I will pay and suspect it will go for more than I am willing to spend on it so I don't mind if you all have a crack at it if you so desire so it will at least end up in the home of a Matsumoku fan. Any thoughts on this one?????

It could be, but to my eyes, there are just too many small anomalies and differences to be absolutely sure of the provenance; finding the OEM p'ups could be problematic, too!!

But I tried. I bid $41 and it went for $42, so I guess the high bidder thought it was a Matsumoku also. Because lets face it, a guitar in that condition isn't worth $42 if it isn't something special. I still think it was a Matsumoku, if you look at the headstock MOP inlay and the pots and cap. That looks Matsumoku to me, maybe not Westone but I think Matsumoku, but I could be wrong. I was just going to restore the paint and just put after market parts, except I was going to use the matsumoku wiring diagram and caps, I have a couple caps from David's parts section before he closed shop. I was thinking of blacking it out, I saw a LP all blacked out and think it looks great. Just the MOP inlay on the headstock and the cream binding to break up the black. Man, it would have been sweet...
