Check this out... :!:

Could it be this unidentified Matsumoku??? :?:

I may put a bid in but it is near the top of what I will pay and suspect it will go for more than I am willing to spend on it so I don't mind if you all have a crack at it if you so desire so it will at least end up in the home of a Matsumoku fan. Any thoughts on this one?????

It could be, but to my eyes, there are just too many small anomalies and differences to be absolutely sure of the provenance; finding the OEM p'ups could be problematic, too!!

Each to their own!

It's not my cup of tea, but if it was a genuine early Westone, I might consider it, just to have it in the collection!
cheers

???WESTONE??? Empty I didn't win it

But I tried. I bid $41 and it went for $42, so I guess the high bidder thought it was a Matsumoku also. Because lets face it, a guitar in that condition isn't worth $42 if it isn't something special. I still think it was a Matsumoku, if you look at the headstock MOP inlay and the pots and cap. That looks Matsumoku to me, maybe not Westone but I think Matsumoku, but I could be wrong. I was just going to restore the paint and just put after market parts, except I was going to use the matsumoku wiring diagram and caps, I have a couple caps from David's parts section before he closed shop. I was thinking of blacking it out, I saw a LP all blacked out and think it looks great. Just the MOP inlay on the headstock and the cream binding to break up the black. Man, it would have been sweet... Crying or Very sad
