Westone bass or not
Hi,
I'm new on this forum. Landed her because I'm interested in Japanese made guitars.
I came across this P bass and hav my doubts if it is Westone-Matsumoku. Any opinion welcome.

I don't think that's Matsumoku Westone simply because that era of Westones were original designs, not copies of other firms offerings, eh!
I have been wrong before, though, and someone in here might have a better idea! The Westone font on the headstock certainly doesn't look like any of the Westone fonts that I'm familiar with as being part of Matsumokus legacy, either.
And normally, somewhere on the instrument, there would be a "Product of Matsumoku Made in Japan" legend, in your case on the neckplate, perhaps....
