Poll Interchangeable bridges

Post by AlwaysMicheal Fri Jun 17, 2016 5:07 am

Hello Westone forums!
I just recently bought a Westone Spectrum but it dose'nt have a Bendmaster bridge and I can't find any spectrum Bendmasters so I was wondering if I could put one on from a Phoenix.
Any help is appreciated thanks.

I've been going through the forums more and I've come across the Gotoh bridge but I'd still like to know weather the bridges are interchangeable because I haven't seen anyone do it with a spectrum yet

What model Spectrum? I've a spare Bendmaster Deluxe, if that's any help?
The Spectrum ST has a 2 screw strat style trem, the rest have either the Deluxe, the Precision or the FT...

I believe the Phoenix strat style bridge will fit the Spectrum, but my Electras have a 6 screw bridge....

Mine is the Spectrum LX X198. Are you talking about how the bridge is attached to the body? If so then mine has the two screw system. I think it's the FT bridge, but it's just got a trem arm and I want a scoop.

I think that's the term for it, the ones where you can reach under the bridge too bend

You mean put your fingers under the bridge?

This says they are interchangeable but wasn't totally clear. The first picture has three bridges I have the one on the left but want to replace it with the one that's on the right

Not entirely sure what this scoop is, but the LX does indeed have an FT bridge which has 2 posts upon which the knife edges on the bridge pivot.

Exchanging bridges can be a tricky proposition for the unwary as scale length and saddle position are reasonably critical.

What advantage does a "scoop" bridge have over a normal wang bar bridge?

I have no idea what a "scoop" is either. If it means sticking your fingers under the bridge and pulling up...why on earth would you ever want to do that?! Don\'t Know

I actually do that sometime, if I don't have the whammy bar on.  it works!

Anywho, the Spectrum should be the same spacing as my Dynasty was, so the Gotoh 1996T should work just fine.  Follow my thread though, see what I did to shave the body cavity inside.
