Bendmaster bridges
I had some time last night and compared the BD bridges I've got. I had thought that the FT might be a drop-in replacement for the Precision...
... the three I've got lined up; l-r, FT, Precision and Deluxe
... underneath...
better one showing the relative sizes of the sustain blocks. The FT and the precision are pretty much the same; the FT has the checks for the string claws and the string claw axle.
Side on showing the FT and the Precision. Much different at the strap peg end.
The sizes are;
Distance between outside edges at widest point; FT 93.79 Precision 93.74 Deluxe 91.77 (mm)
Distance between lowest points of the post cutouts; FT 74.93 Precision 74.89 Deluxe 73.50 (mm)
Depth of bridge plate (front to back) FT 50.51 Precision 46.48
And while I was there, I fettled my Spectrum GT...
45's in both positions.

Re: Bendmaster bridges
Damian; only that they're close enough to be interchangeable, though to be honest, I prefer the Precision because of it's simplicity! It also has a quick hook set up and I much prefer that!!
Steve; didn't the Electras use that in one or two of the up market Phoenixes??

Re: Bendmaster bridges
If you unscrew the trem block from the Precision it's machined as the FT.
String claw bar and all.
Good to know they're interchangeable.

Re: Bendmaster bridges
Though not called by name specifically the Precision was the transitional 2 post trem on an x189 that replaced the 6-screw TekGlide that was commonly used up until that model's introduction. I have seen one on an x190 once and also on a single x195 as well.

I'm not certain if Thorny still has this one or not but it is a punchy bright burst of a guitar, wherever it is now.

Re: Bendmaster bridges
To fix my buddy's Dimension, I had to use parts from both a Precision and an FT to make one useable bridge. They're easily interchangeable.
