HUMBUCKER STUCK IN SINGLE COIL???
OK. So I'm thinking I might have to get my pickup fixed. The pickup is a humbucker from a Westone Spectrum ST. Love those guitars. The bridge humbucker used to read about 6.5 and now it is only reading 3.5. What is even stranger is that when I take the reading off of the white lead the pickup still reads 6.5, but when I take the reading off the red lead the pickup only reads 3.5... Weird, huh?? When i smoosh the 2 wires together and take the reading with the ground, it still reads 3.5... I am wiring the pickup straight to the jack by the way. No pots or nothin...
When I tap each side with a screwdriver (when the guitar is plugged in to the amp) one side is definitly louder than the other. It's definitly sounding like a single coil and not a humbucker...
Any suggestions on where I could send it? I took it apart and all the connections seem solid. i can't really imagine what's wrong with it. I do want to get it back to how it sounded before if possible...
Anybody got any of these pickups laying around that they want to sell? I;m looking for the king with the hex head...
Thanks...
