Thunder 1 on the BBC news...

Thought I was dreaming!

The UK national news ran a story about an ex-wife/ happy hippy/ new age traveller who has been allowed to make a claim against her ex-husband for many £000s, despite the fact that they were divorced 20 years back. Apparently they had a brief marriage after which she had lived in obscurity but he'd made squillions from green energy projects.

When she realised he was minted she went back to Court to get some!

And the Court agreed (thus proving that the law is indeed an ass)

So there I was idly picking away on my sofa guitar (it's a Washburn acoustic, lives on a stand by the sofa for advert breaks) as this story is reported when the BBC played some old footage of the guy before he made his fortune... and I'm looking at the headstock of a Thunder 1! Looked like he was playing it through some odd amp powered by solar power or some other off-the-grid batteries.

Just think - if his ex wasn't robbing him he could possibly trade in his old Thunder for a Prestige...

Great spot and thanks for a trip down memory lane. So many great (FREE) festivals evolved as a result of that community, especially the "Big Green Gathering"...happy days.

About the actual story. All she's won is the right not to have the case summarily dismissed. The Supreme Court overturned the Court of Appeal ruling that the case should be dismissed. The Supreme Court have said that her actual case is very weak and the sum she is seeking is excessive so I doubt that it will end well for her.
