Re: Alfa Romeo guitar
Yes, saw that recently, very pricey..£4000.
Been driving Alfa's for years(luckily able to do all my own repairs) and wouldn't mind one but not at that price.Anyway they've gone..
The Charlatans made it sound pretty crap...
Here's another. Wall art!

Far from a good looking guitar.Sgt. Vimes wrote:Awful cars, ugly guitars....go figure
As for the cars, ever owned one? Probably not!

Yep, very early 90's I had a 10 year old Sud, or should I say it had me!

Re: Alfa Romeo guitar
Guitars are pretty hideous to my eyes, but I'm sure someone will love 'em to bits!!
I had an Alfetta GTV 6 for awhile years ago and, when it was going and on song, it was sex on wheels; just outrageously good fun but it did have "issues" especially with rust which, in a coastal country like New Zealand, is a death sentence.
That said, I love Alfas to bits and would have another in a heartbeat, especially a JTS Spyder...

Re: Alfa Romeo guitar
Best v6 engine out there, by far.
A lot of cars from that era suffered from rust, not just Alfas
Having been a grease monkey for the majority of my working life cars are now just filthy things...
but I love 'em. Especially Alfas.
Here's 3 I've had. Currently a GT 2.0 JTDM

Re: Alfa Romeo guitar
Aesthetics aside, they look like uncomfortable things to play - where's the bridge on that second one, by the way?

Re: Alfa Romeo guitar
Don't like the £4000. one at all as an instrument.
The other one is just wall art, hence the lack of bridge.

Re: Alfa Romeo guitar
Alfa sheet metal did seem to be a little thinner than most and with no underseal etc. the poor bloody things suffered terribly.
That engine and transaxle were just sublime, though, and the road manners were nothing short of astonishing...
However, when all is said and done, having being lucky enough to sample Astons, Maseratis etc. in Jersey, it's a TVR Chimaera I lust after these days...
... talk about loving a challenge!!

Re: Alfa Romeo guitar
I loved my Alfa 166 3.0V6. It never went wrong, looked like sex-on-a-stick and guzzled fuel like it was going out of fashion. It had the Alfa Romeo symbol embroidered into the leather back rest on the seat and was really well equipped.
Oooh, I've come over all unnecessary now....
