Re: westone cutlass
That's one of the Sid Poole Westones; not covered by Westone.info but I'd like to know a little bit about them, eh - they don't come up very often and look very nice...

Westone Cutlass + Corsair
Hi there, These guitars sound excellent. I own a Cutlass Classic and a Cutlass Classic body and neck both bought recently from FCN in Kent and are brand new, they found them in their warehouse. All hardware is by Gotoh these are hot guitars. They even made a Corsair model with H/s/s. The cutlass model is H/s.

Re: westone cutlass
Yeah; saw that - they sort of grow on you! But once again, exchange rate and shipping kills any thought of bidding dead in it's tracks!

Re: westone cutlass
it didn't sell first time round. £400 start, £425 BIN. so he's relisted it at £500 BIN or best offer... i like his style!
no guitar tokens at the minute, or i'd have had that!

Westone Cutlass + Corsair
These guitars are well worthy of the name, They sound a bit darker, with tons of sustain. Top timbers and components and workmanship.
Would be a good guitar with any name on the headstock. Sid Poole knew what he was about.
If you've never tried one have a bash, you wont be disappointed.
Top quality stuff. Much, much better in many ways than the current so called westone's and a good and worthy guitar to be named The big W. I love old Wessy

Re: westone cutlass
i saw one in, i think it was, grimsby years ago. it was when they were a 'current' model. i was out there with work always fancied one ever since, but not happened yet, sadly. prefer a twin humbucker job, though...!
and, yes, sid poole certainly did know his stuff!
it didn't sell (again) at £500 ono, so i think he's gonna try it at £600 next time!

Westone Cutlass-- Corsair
The good thing about is that on the five way switch 1. humbucker only, 2. hum+middle pup(bridge side of hum, 1 coil) 3.middle pup only 4. bridge side of hum + neck pup 5. neck. Pretty clever eh. Best of both worlds.
Cutlass, Corsair Classic
Stand corrected, all by myself, position 4 middle + neck pup. Good combination of hum+ single coil sounds.
Yeah, the price is going up+up £350. a fair price in good nick. They do sound good though. Cost about £399.--£450 when new. Have 2 cutlasses 3 position switch 1. hum, 2. hum+neck,(inner coil of neck) 3. neck. Bit like some of the switching on the old Wessies. One of the sweetist Westone sounds is the Thunder II with PEQ tone controls. King A.
