Re: Oh, hell.....
Pretty much done here, fellas... new nut cut - + a spare! - and now letting the neck settle down a bit! I'm picking it's not had strings on it for many a long year...
It has a low, ever so slightly buzzy action at the moment but I'll give it a week or so to settle down and then have at it, but all in all, I'm chuffed to bits!
... case nearly finished as well!
...decals not quite right, but good enough for me right now, and I've done more so one day I'll make it all better!
.. and there's the original colour.
Sounds an awful lot brighter than any other MMK45 equipped guitar of mine - perhaps because it's quite light? Even the exceptionally light Vantage Corsair Avenger is less bright...
Hope you kids enjoyed it as much as I did...

Re: Oh, hell.....
A dangerous looking guitar Johnny, and the spear fishermen of the Daintree Rainforest
will be wanting that for their next outing!
As for the bright sound, dunno. Usually a denser wood encourages the treble tone but this might be a case of the geometry. That long pointy lower bout might act like a tuning fork or summit.
How does she compare to the Urchin? Same general comment applies there too. If ever there was a wacky shape that would affect tone...

... hence the "nearly done" disclaimer! I've since put the other string tree on and relaxed the strings to lube the contact points. And yes... tucked the B back onto its wee wheel....
I'll set the neck relief in a little while and then do the rest of the set up. How long does it take for the strings to act on the neck, chaps? I'm picking its pretty quick, yes??

That is one nice job on that one. Looks great and I like the paint as well. Congrats on a good one.

Re: Oh, hell.....
A neck should adjust quickly, no more than a week or so. Is it backbowing?

Re: Oh, hell.....
A very good job sir! - It really looks like 1985 - now you need to get some leather high top Nike's, some spandex and a ton of hair spray (please don't post pics of all that). But really...you did a great job bringing that one back to it's day eh

Thanks, Pat... yeah, nah - no-one wants to see me in Spandex, mate; I'd look like 10lb of sausages in a 5lb bag!! And hairspray?! Not these days; I've just got lots of face to wash and Hi-tops?? Nope.. not in this climate!!
Chad: about to go out and do battle with it.
