thunder 1 A VERSION 2? Empty thunder 1 A VERSION 2?

Post by Headwind-1 Thu Dec 05, 2013 10:12 am

Hi Forum readers,
recently got hold of a thunder 1 a it is the wooden  laquered version 2 thru body stringing but with I think the earlier active wiring.

Question to a knowledgabe person; the farthest back tone pot that is the active pot with active switch just underneath of it; it doesn't have the detent the middle one does, when you turn it from max clockwise/treble back all the way anticlockwise all it seems to do is act like a volume control until the sound completely disappears.

My later red one with the later wiring does not do this and it has the B   O   T with the detent on it and works what I think is right. So can anyone throw any light on this please. Ged.

What Westbone said. These circuits are da bomb!
My ver I is a surface mount bridge though, not string thru. So different again (thanks Uncle Mats).

Have a look HERE for more info on the circuitry.
