Looks like a Rainbow II hanging there.
Another with a broken tail piece? Bigsby suites 'em

Yeah baby! Great looking bunch there, really like the variety.
I can't wait to do that to mine. We just bought a house and I've got 8 guitar hangers to install in my man cave.

Re: the man cave is coming together
I have more guitars but need some more hangers.
I had 3 of them hanging on the wall at my store and 1 of them sold, so I brought the other 2 home. Don't you think the price tags make them fresh/gangsta/dope?
The Rainbow II came to me with the Bigsby and Sperzels. While I wish I had the original STP (and would gladly buy one if available), the Bigsby works fine as do the Sperzels.
I just got an '83 Gibson Explorer and it is just the best sounding guitar I've ever owned. It's bone stock and will be on the wall soon. It has sustain for days and tone to die for. And I'm not really into Explorers either - but it's just so good that I had to get it. It came walking into the store a few weeks ago. The guy who brought it in is the original owner and the receipt is in the case. He played it on stage for 10 years but it's been hanging on his wall for 20 years.

Re: the man cave is coming together
Those two amps are gonna shake the foundations a bit!!
or is that an attenuator on top of the Marshall or foot switch?

Re: the man cave is coming together
It's a switchdoctor footswitch for the Marshall DSL.Westbone wrote:Those two amps are gonna shake the foundations a bit!!

Left amp is a 150w Mesa Boogie Triple Rectifier with a matching treadplate oversize recto cab loaded with vintage 30s. I recently got that head and am still on the fence about it. I had a 3-channel dual rec for a long time that I liked but I retubed it. I bet the triple will come alive with better tubes too.
The right amp is a Marshall JCM2000 DSL100 head with matching 1960 slant cab loaded with celestion '75s. I've never done anything to this head - it's bone stock with original tubes and sounds great. And you can pick one up cheap too. They were like $2100 new when available, but you can buy one on craigslist for $5-600. And for my money it's a very versatile and great sounding head. It'll do plexi, jcm800, hotrodded plexi, hotrodded jcm800, and insane modern gain sounds - all on 1 head. I had a splawn for a while and it sounded no better than this stock marshall. Maybe I just got a good one...
The Marshall amp through the Boogie cab is HEAVENLY!
I don't have the pedalboard or rack hooked up yet but will post pics when I do. I normally play in stereo through both amps. We live in the country and the amps are in the basement so I'm not really disturbing the neighbors.

Re: the man cave is coming together
Can't beat a good Marshall. You're right, easy to find great ones for low prices nowadays, they seem to be out there all the time. You have the best of both worlds, the Marshall and that sore throated Mesa sound. Marshall is just too smooth to produce it.

Gold pin JJ preamp tubes are the perfect cure for the sore throat. There are lots of haters online saying that the gold pins do nothing for sound - but buy one - and you'll see that it really does smooth things up.
This boogie's clean channel when pushed is just freakin' awesome - better than any Fender I've ever heard. It's extremely touch sensitive and you control the breakup with the volume knob on the guitar. But the 2 hot channels are kind of fizzy and harsh. We need to make a tube order for the store soon...
