Post by silence86 Tue Jun 03, 2014 3:14 pm

Hi everyone,

Next week I'll probably get another (westone-)guitar, so it's time to make some room.

About the prices: I don't want to make any profit, but I also don't want to lose money with the sale, so I stated the prices I paid for them (prices are exclusive of shipping costs). If you think those are too high let me know, perhaps we can find a solution.
All of those instruments are a little bit dusty and might need a clean.

x300pp (190 EUR)

Infos:
stripped E/A-screw thread, string clamp plate and screw missing (I can repair this of course if you want and give me a bit of time (John found out a really good way to deal with that quite common problem); I can also ask our nice forum-member midhilis for the missing parts, if wanted)

litte bit of laquer missing at the top of the Headstock, no wood missing

little chip

Can be shipped in a non-original case (only one clasp is working), here an older pic...trem-arm is included.

x750cr old logo (170 EUR)

Infos:

Bit of wood missing on the top of the headstock, painted black

Paint missing on the back of the neck (always thought of use a bit of nail enamel to repair that, but it never bothered me)

Little chips and some light scratches on the back (tried the show them in the pic). Comes optional with schaller security locks or the originals.

Some cracks on the joint of neck and body…I head the neck removed once and saw nothing in the wood. I also never had any problems/instabilities there, so I guess it’s just in the paint(?)

Comes with original case. Apart from that I equipped that one with a selfmade activator 2 onboard preamp (see http://www.guitar-repairs.co.uk/jfet_guitar_preamp.htm). If you don't want that I'll take it out.

x750 new logo (95 EUR)

Infos:

Big blemish on the front, quite nasty. Appearently it was used quite a bit.
I’ll add a good description and pics as soon as I find the time to get it from my father’s house.

Here a bad photo. Sorry for the quality, it's the only one I have at the moment:

Bendmaster Deluxe (25 EUR)

Quite perfect nick, with screws, stems and spring-claw…I also have the springs somewhere, I’ll have a look. No trem arm or stringclamp.

I'll be glad to add some pics, just tell me if you want more.

Cheers, Hans

Aw crap,  just when I thought I had enough basses!
One of those 750's would partner my x300cr so well... But shipping to England could be pricey,  then there's the import duty..... Why do you have to do this to me???

Yeah, no import-duties inside of the EU. I could always unscrew the neck, but that doesn't work with the case...I got 2 instruments from the UK, and with both I hat the choice between 50 GBP with insurance or 25 GBP without one...If you like I can ask how much it would be from Germany to England tomorrow.

Righto, with DHL, it costs 19,99 EUR (10 kg max) or 14,99 (5 kg max) to mainland UK, but I doubt that it will weight under 5 kg with all packaging material. In both cases, the package is insured until 500 EUR.

Pics can last until the beginning of the next week, I'm afraid.

I have no hardcase for it, sorry. Got it packed in cardboard and much bubble wrap myself (even without unscrewed neck).

Hi,

here are some pics of the second x750. To post all pics directly into the forum would need a lot of space, so here are some links:

The electronics are working, trussrod is working, there's not much fretwear. The fretboard shows some battlescars, but the one in the pic is the biggest (it's between the 3rd and the 4th fret). Cosmetically it's...well...have a look Wink. Can also give you some original strapbuttons. And by the way: those knobs are replacements I ordered from westone.info long long ago.

Have a nice evening, Hans

Holy cow!
that is some serious blemish! how did that happen?
it's starting to look too expensive as that looks to me to need a complete body refinish which I don't yet have the ability to do myself.

I have no idea why this happened, l bouth it in that condition a while ago in the USA (Link to a thread with the original ebay-pic)...I remember that the seller stated that a former owner tried to create something like a kiss-shape, but wasn't too successful obviously.

Hi All,

I may be interested in the Blemished one.... I like my Bass guitars to sound and play good, appearance? yeah I like them to look good but its all about the sound for me. I have not had the privilege of playing a Pantera so, any one out there can help me out? I like the feel of the Raider, Thunder, I love the feel of Ibanez Necks, really slim and fast. just wondering where this Pantera baby would sit among this? Looking for help Guys and Gals.

I don't know about the Pantera basses but my Spectrum GT has a very slender neck which is not too wide nor too narrow; just right for my hands, in fact!

The sound is very good, too, and I see the Pantera has the same basic set up as the GT, so should be capable of doing what ever it is you want to do.

I'll say this; I owned and played a 70s P-bass many years ago and I much prefer the Westone...

Seeing as  Thunder's were styled on P basses.
Same nut width, radius, scale etc.

Try a P bass with a Jazz neck...extremely playable and very comfortable.

GT's are more in Jazz bass territory.

Hi,

If Sgt.Vimes doesn't want it, you can have it of course.

I'm sorry but I can't compare the x750 to any other neck, as the only 2 basses I had before I went down the westone-way were 2 yamahas (rbx374/375), and those necks felt quite similar to me. If you want and it helps, I can measure thickness and breadth at various points. That could give you a hint, perhaps.
