Can anyone identify this thing?
Here's a little bit of a mystery for you vintage guitar nuts... I can't find anything about it. ANYWHERE.
short scale, 20 frets, pretty basic. It can't be the only one of it's kind, that would just be... ridiculous.

Given the size of the conglomerate that was, and is, Hyundai, I wouldn't be at all surprised if they had a dabble! Flick 'em an email and ask 'em....

Re: Can anyone identify this thing?
haha, well that clears things up
Looks like there's a Hyundai Musical Instrument Co. of South Korea, founded in 1962. They have/had a website, but now it's just a 404. There's a Hyundai Les Paul on http://www.myrareguitars.com/1970guitars.html, but that seems to be the only picture of any Hyundai instrument I can find.
...I'm finding myself really intrigued by vintage guitars, basses, and amps...

Ooooh, buddy - this is a very slippery slope you're finding yourself on; what you have is known as Gear Acquisition Syndrome, and there is NO cure, just palliative measures like 'acquiring' new, old guitars and gear every now and then!!
Welcome here... obviously we are Westone nuts in particular, and Matsumoku nuts in general, at least I am!!

Re: Can anyone identify this thing?
The ID isn't the issue; I believe the provenance is! See what I did there; I put an emoticon in... and it worked!!!

Re: Can anyone identify this thing?
eh, nothing fantastical, I suppose. just wondering about the rarity, model number, original price, etc... I really should ask my grandfather how he got hold of such obscure equipment.
