Sold Paduak I (NOS) from Spain

Post by bcn Tue Apr 02, 2013 10:51 am

Hello,

I´m Manel from Barcelona, Spain. I´m 57 y.o.

I bought the Westone Paduak I in 1982 in Barcelona, Spain.
I did not know music. My idea was to learn to play guitar. I am very clumsy for music and after three days I abandoned the idea of learning. I kept the guitar in my parents' house. I kept it in a closet with ropes loosened and without the battery. I kept it protected from dust, moisture and sunlight.
Now 31 years after reviewing my parents house I remembered the existence of the Westone Paduak I.

Now, I put the guitar on sale for 1300 US $ (shipping costs charged to the purchaser) or I can accept a barter for good quality watch from a well known brand and no more than about three years old. I prefer money.

Regards
Manel

She's in gorgeous condition Manel! Wow! Paduak I (NOS) from Spain 2927775184
But even with the original case I think your asking price may be too high for all but the hard core serious collector.

Thank you for the excellent pictures and good luck with your sale.

Hello again,

-- I might consider a trade for a lefthand electric bass (I do not know if Westone in its Japanese era built electric bass for lefties)

-- I could negotiate the price individually with people that are really interested in Paduak I (pm).

Good day Manuel,

Christer from Sweden here! We spoke via email about your Westone Paduak I in the early March. Smile

I see that you still trying to sell your guitar, to me you said you had two offers, one from Madrid and one from Manchester at that time and that you would sell to the one who bid the highest. What happened? Did they think the shipping costs were to high?

Have you found any way to ship the guitar to Sweden for less than 200 euros?
Or do any of you other members maybe know of a cheaper solution? How to ship a package (115 cm x 50 cm x 20 cm y 5,5 kilogramos) from Spain to Sweden?

I am still interested in that guitar but the price is to high and not to speak of the shippingcost which is crazy. Shocked

Even more cheap to get a guitar from Japan to Sweden than from Spain. Paid 147 euro for shipment and that was their fastest shipping (3 days). Otherwise there was this option (normal) for 114 euro or the economical one wich was 61 euro. That was a Les Paul Aria Pro II guitar and the package weight was just under 10 kilos.

But as said, I am interested getting that beautiful Paduak into my home as company to an already "living" member of my family. Smile

Wish you all members a nice day!

Hello
I remember you perfectly Smile I have a problem finding cheap transportation. The Spanish postal service only accepts shipments maximum length of 100 cm. The Westone guitar with case is 110 cm. In a courier company called NACEX told me shipping to Sweden cost 185 euros. I will try to ask for cheaper shipments in other firms.

On the other hand, I could accept 350 euros in cash and the rest in exchange for a electric guitar (not vintage or collector) that I can easily sell in Spain. For me it is more comfortable to receive all cash.

. I only collect meteorites and watches. By the way, a few days ago I bought a piece of 300 g of Muoniolalusta

Best regards to all forum members

Manel

Hello,

Manel

Hello,

I have found these two simulators for international shipping. For example for a package like the Westone (6 kg, 110 cm x 45 cm x15 cm) and insured in 700 euros the shipping cost from Barcelona to Stockholm is about 60 euros. Barcelona-London is the same cost.

https://www.infoenvia.com/precio-enviar-de-ES-08004-a-SE-100%2012/

http://www.genei.es/

Barcelona- USA is 135 euros.

Might be more economical looking from the countries of destination

Sold Re: Paduak I (NOS) from Spain

Post by Society Sun Apr 14, 2013 3:07 pm

Good evening,

Well, that was a little better shipping price which I can accept if it goes the same to Uppsala instead of Stockholm (good that it is insured as well).

I would be willing to offer you 550 euros and of course the shipping of 60 euros, total 610 euros for the guitar included insured shipping. But this is if you can package it very well so it has a safe journey to me in Sweden and if I can pay via PayPal.

You can think and see if you are willing to accept this and sell at this price. I think it is a very good price for you and think that a lot of the people on this forum would agree.

I am interested and this is my offer. Smile
But the decision is in your hands now, though you are the seller! Smile

Wish you and all others a good evening!

Oh dearie dear do I have egg on my face... Embarassed

Apparently shipping prices ( and definitely Paduak prices... Shocked ) are downright dirt cheep over here in the States. The most I've seen a Paduak go for here is just under $400 and I missed out on 2 in the last year on Craigslist for less than $300 once and less than $250 the other time.

La millor de les sorts a vostè amb la seva venda, Manel... Very Happy

Yes my friends, I know. It is a crazy high bid but I have been looking around for a companion to one already owned and here in Sweden you never see them for sale at all. I have seen one for sale in the past two years. So now, when finding this one in great condition I thought I would make a high bid. It is only because of the condition, otherwise it would have been much lower. Smile

Also looking for a Paduak II, so if anyone feels they are willing to sell I gladly receive suggestions (on PM)?! Very Happy

Crazy how the prices and supply/selection (of guitars) varies from different countries? Here in Sweden Westone is kind of infamous and there are not many collecting them (what I know of). So therefore you nearly never see any of these old Westies for sale here. Have never ever seen a Prestige for sale here in Sweden for example. Hard collecting these beauties living here! Rolling Eyes

Lots and lots of Vantages and Arias there though I'd warrant. At least to judge by those posts I read on a regular basis by what I refer to as the Northern European Posse over at the Guitar Gallery Forum.

A few Westone models are in very scarce supply over here as well, apparently they just do not travel outside of the borders of the countries they were primarily marketed in.

I once saw a lovely Electra "BlackRock" SuperRock for sale on ebay out of Cyprus or Greece of all places... truly a puzzlement as to how it got out there in the first place.
