Nah Barry!!
We are all God's children living in a global village, even though I am an athiest and the global post office has been closed for reasons of efficiency, and the global pub is on its last legs.
Its a bit like Ebony and Ivory, but without Paul McCartney ruining it and without Stevie Wonder having the the poor taste ever to agree to doing it in the first place. So, in effect, it is nothing like Ebony and Ivory

... the date of said pm will provide a sufficient explanation I'm thinking...
Re: head stock decal
Yeah it was a Tuesday. I did type the message but must have neglected to hit the send button.
The time I invested in typing that message is gone forever... just wasted. I'll never get it back.

Re: head stock decal
I think playing or singing or what have you always gets prettier as closing time nears...
This does remind me however of the time I was privileged to witness and overhear that singular and magnificent exchange of repartee betwixt the two great and legendary minds of the 20th century back those many years ago.
As I recall it The Right Honourable Sir Winston Leonard Spencer-Churchill, KG, OM, CH, TD, PC, DL, FRS, Hon. RA (and First Honorary Citizen of the United States of America) was well into his cups as he was wont to find himself on rare occasion after sharing a magnum or two of his favorite bubbly Pol Roger with our very own Hoax.
Much of it has grown quite fuzzy over the passing years but this one portion of the conversation, which ranged from an exposition of the American Civil War to the lessons learned in the 2nd Boer War to the various subtleties of properly aged Arbroath Smokies... well, I digress there a bit...
...in any case this particular couplet rings clear as a silver bell in my memory as the first crisp breath of air at the onset of a fall morning on the shores of Lake Grindstone in September...
SIR WINSTON: "I may indeed be drunk, my dear Graham, but in the morning I shall be sober and you... well, you shall still be a STAR AMONG MEN"
HOAX: "..... uurrrrrruupppt, hic..."
...remember that one, m'boy???

Ah Ice - Your memory is fading. My actual reply to Sir Winston was,

Re: head stock decal
Hmmmm.... Sir Winston Churchill, eh.... Or that murderous, egotistic dickhead as we down here like to call him... he cost many ANZACS their lives in pointless, bloody campaigns!

Re: head stock decal
Yeah John. He was not the smartest tactician and this caused the lives of many.
What is probably worse is that his over inflated ego would not allow him to admit his errors and reduce the bloodshed by withdrawing from campaigns that were doomed to fail.

Now John at last a pleasant surprise!!
A new forum status to be proud of which in some ways makes up for the disappointments I have endured in earlier times!!

My apologies John for bringing up a least favorite historical figure of yours.
An edit has been duly made to my above post given the sudden shift in the tradewinds...

Re: head stock decal
Ahhhh, Steve.... S'OK; and the quote is a good one! He may not have been the ANZACs best friend, but he was a very clever bloke with an enormous vocabulary and the wit to use it!
His early life reads like something from a Boys Own comic, eh!
