Re: WTS: Spectrum III XA1330CY
Nice colt.
I'm swiping these pix to add to the web site.
Our current ones are kinda tiny.
K?
edit:
I just realized this one has a Bendmaster trem and the one on the web site shows with a Kahler. Hmmm.

Re: WTS: Spectrum III XA1330CY
these are really nice players. i have one in blue and it sounds excellent and plays fast and smooth. it has a sticker on the back of the headstock with 5 digit serial #. it also has the bendmaster deluxe trem
the controls are 5-way switch, master volume/ master tone/ and the tone shaper circuit on the 3rd knob.
i find the tone shaper to be a great tool for very high gain distortion. it kills the squeally feedback and leaves you with better control of the good fat powerful feedback. the slight attenuation of the highs can be compensated for by adjusting settings on the amp, or distortion pedals.
the pickups are well balanced between the bridge humbucker and the middle/neck singles. neck pickup is nice and throatey sounding.
no coil splits on this one.
gets a good quacky sound and retains it's clarity even in high distortion.
sounds great cleaned up too, clear and sparkly on positions 2 & 4.
i wouldn't call the pickups powerful, but they are very clear and articulate.
i think the guitar is designed to be a shredder and they expect outboard gear to deliver the punch. the electronics are quite simple and the guitar is very versatile, with a good range of tones. i like mine quite alot.

Re: WTS: Spectrum III XA1330CY
btw....
it is not a Spectrum GT, which has heatwave pickups(no exposed pole pieces), and a kahler bridge, and came along a year or so later
the guitar model is; Spectrum III XA1330CY
catalog
the trem cover on the back of mine has a slot to change the strings without removing the cover.
the anniversary editions had a neckplate on the back, the next year's models (like the yellow one above) did not
