Spectrum SX being broken on eBay...

No connection to the seller (& sad to see what looks like a viable guitar ending its days like this), but noticed the following parts for sale on eBay UK:

Spectrum SX body
Spectrum SX neck
Spectrum SX neck-plate
Spectrum SX trem
Spectrum SX MMK45 humbucker
Spectrum SX jack socket
Spectrum SX Switchmaster knobs
Spectrum SX tuners
Spectrum SX wiring loom
Spectrum SX trem locking nut

Yeah its such a shame, obviously been done to maximise any money from the guitar.

I always hate to see a good instrument sold in pieces. It's a shame that the parts can bring more than the entire working guitar. So sad

I suppose the only good thing is that someone who is trying to find an original replacement part now has a chance of getting it.

Not intending to come across as crass or anything but at least it is only an SX ...

I understand what you're saying Iceman, and take no offense in your statement but, it's still a Westone that hasn't been made in 20 years.

I find it very shameful to see that the respect for these instruments has gone the way of the dodo.

No appreciation anymore, just $$$$

I only state that as it seems everybody and their aunt has either an S, L or MX under their bed or cluttering up the pantry to judge by the frequency with which I see them for sale online or at a pawn or other MGR-type shop.

I totally agree there is little solace in my sentiments as it is still a fine instrument that is being butchered in the end, but at least it isn't a far less available model that is being wasted in an ignorant effort to squeeze abit more blood from the stone, if you follow me.

In my cartoon bubble there are two scenarios currently fighting it out...

In the first one you're Bo Danville and I am Cledus Snow, with John as Sheriff Buford T. Justice and Warrn tagging along as Junior. I expect Barry would fill the role of "Big" Enos Burdette but I can't come up with who could fill "Little" Enos's shoes in that one. Obviously we will have to go off the board to for the part of Carrie, Warren's sorry... Junior's runaway bride to be.

In the second one you and I are Bo and Luke Duke (we can flip for who's who) with Barry as Uncle Jesse. In this one John jumps in as Boss Hogg and Warrn (natch) is perfect in the role of Roscoe P. Coletrain. Again however we would need to go off the Forum to find my…ummm, beg pardon our Miss Daisy.

Well Steve (Dim IV that is) of course we are hopeful of "our little" brand continuing to grow in appreciation of both reputation and value... just not by parting them out to the individual BMD saddle or BMFT string claw as the s%#€π**@√¢ wrecker in this fleabay auction is nearly doing.



And if they would have just continued to be more or less something of a secret to those of us wise ones in the know, well... sauce for the goose I say!
